Our Educational Approach

The educational program at St. Patrick's Preschool was created with our children’s needs in mind: to mature and develop in a creative and stimulating environment. Take a look below to learn more about some unique aspects of our curriculum.

Imaginative Play

"Play is the work of young children." - Jean Piaget Children develop their imagination, exploration and decision making skills through open ended play. At St. Patrick's we dedicate time for and encourage children to play, by providing creative props and safe boundaries.

Outdoor Exploration

"Not all classrooms have four walls." - Margaret McMillan We believe that exploring nature helps children to let go of stress and anxiety, relax their mind and be inspired. Connecting with the outdoors builds a love of nature and teaches children to care about the earth that we call home. Playing on the playground, working in our garden, and exploring the wooded trails behind the church, are important parts of our preschool experience.

The Artist in Me

"Every child is an artist." -Picasso Each month at St. Patrick's we highlight a famous artist. Learning about each artist's life, and creating art in the style of that artist, is a wonderful way to nuture the artist within each child. Art is a part of every day in our classrooms.
